Jungle Bird Cocktail Recipe

Rum, pineapple, and a surprising bittersweet note that makes it stand out.

- 2 oz dark rum
- 0.75 oz orange aperitif
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- 3 oz pineapple juice
- 0.75 lime juice
In a shaker combine rum, orange aperitif, syrup, pineapple juice, lime juice, ice. Shake very well.
Strain into a rocks glass with ice.
Garnish with pineapple.
- Any orange aperitif will do. I used a sweet one but a bitter one will work too.
- The garnish is important here. If you want to recreate the bird, you need a toothpick, several pineapple leaves, a pineapple wedge, and a cherry.
- If you want to turn this into Salty Bird, use the same recipe but add a pinch of salt to the shaker.
