Dare to Sip on Darkness with Every Shadowy Swirl

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz tequila of choice
  • 0.75 orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 1 activated charcoal capsule
  • coarse salt for the rim
  • lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  1. If you're doing the salt rim, rub a bit of lime on the glass rim and dip it in coarse salt. If you want the salt black, mix it with a bit of charcoal from the capsule before dipping the glass in it.
  2. For the margarita - in a shaker add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup, and the contents of the activated charcoal capsule, plus ice. Shake very very very well.
  3. Strain into prepared glass, garnish, and serve.

Notes

The charcoal looks impressive but offers no taste of its own, so this won't be much different from a regular margarita in terms of taste.

This would work really well for a dramatic cocktail party, or a Halloween party.
