Sip the Spirit of Jamaica in Every Colorful Glass

Ingredients

  • 0.5 oz grenadine
  • 1 oz coconut rum
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz silver rum
  • 0.5 oz blue curacao

Instructions

  1. Build in a tall glass, starting with fresh ice.
  2. Pour in the grenadine first so it sinks.
  3. In a shaker add ice, pineapple juice, and coconut rum. Shake very well.
  4. Strain into glass over ice, making sure to not disturb the grenadine too much. Some layer mixing is normal.
  5. Rinse the shaker, add a couple ice cubes, then the silver rum and blue curacao. Shake a couple of times to combine.
  6. Very carefully strain this into the drink, over the back of a spoon. It should mix with the top part of the yellow layer and create a green layer. Might turn out teal, depending on your blue curacao.
  7. Serve this without mixing or stirring, but do mix before drinking.

Notes

If you want to be sure you get a green layer, opt for just a splash of blue curacao. It will give you much less orange flavor, but the layer will 100% be green.

Or swap the curacao for Midori.
