Continental Sour
Where timeless charm meets modern flair
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 0.75 oz simple syrup
- 1 egg white
- 0.75 oz port wine
Instructions
- In a shaker without ice add egg white, whisky, lemon juice, simple syrup, and shake well. It will build pressure, be careful.
- Add ice in the shaker, and shake very well again.
- Strain into lowball glass and pour port wine before serving.
Notes
You can shake the egg white with the ingredients and ice from the beginning, it just won't be as much foam as when you shake it separately.
If you do shake it separately, keep in mind the shaker will build a lot of pressure and might pop open if you're not careful.
Tips & Tricks
Enhance the depth and complexity of your Continental Sour by using barrel-aged bourbon. The aging process adds layers of richness and flavor, elevating the cocktail to new heights of sophistication.
Explore alternative sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup to replace the traditional simple syrup. These natural sweeteners offer a distinct flavor profile that can complement the other ingredients in the cocktail.
