Tasting Notes
The first sip of Drunken Barney greets you with a delightful blend of sweetness and tang. The coconut rum introduces a creamy, tropical essence that pairs beautifully with the bright, zesty flavor of orange juice. As you continue to sip, the blue curacao contributes a subtle citrus note that enhances the overall fruitiness of the cocktail. The vodka provides a strong backbone, ensuring that the drink has a satisfying, robust character.
Midway through, the peach schnapps makes its presence known with a lush, juicy sweetness that balances the tartness of the cranberry juice. This interplay of flavors creates a layered experience, where each ingredient complements the other, resulting in a harmonious and refreshing drink. The finish is smooth and slightly sweet, leaving a pleasant, lingering taste that invites another sip.
Tips & Tricks
Blend all the ingredients with ice to create a slushy, frozen version of Drunken Barney. This makes it even more refreshing on a hot day.
Replace the vodka and coconut rum with coconut water and the peach schnapps with peach nectar to create a non-alcoholic version that’s just as delicious.
Add a dash of jalapeño-infused vodka or muddle some fresh ginger for a spicy twist that contrasts nicely with the sweet and fruity flavors.
