Mezcal Negroni

a harmonious blend of smoky mezcal, bitter Campari, and sweet vermouth

  • 1 oz mezcal
  • 1 oz orange aperitif
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • orange twist to garnish

  1. In a mixing glass add one large block of ice, then the spirits.
  2. Stir well to combine and chill.
  3. Strain over ice-filled rocks glass, garnish with orange twist.

Normally a Negroni is always made with Campari, but if it's too bitter for your taste you can use Aperol instead (it's a bit sweeter).

Tips & Tricks

Add a twist by infusing the mezcal with citrus fruits like oranges or grapefruits for a refreshing and citrusy variation on the traditional recipe.

Enhance the smoky flavor of the mezcal by rinsing the glass with a smoky scotch whisky before adding the other ingredients, intensifying the smokiness of the cocktail and adding a rich, peaty aroma.
