Bahama Mama
A refreshing breeze from the Caribbean
Ingredients
- 1 oz dark rum
- 1 oz coconut rum
- 1 oz white rum
- 2 oz fresh orange juice
- 2 oz fresh pineapple juice
- a splash of grenadine
- (optional) 0.5 oz coffee liqueur for extra depth
- Garnish - orange slice and cherry
Instructions
- In a large glass (hurricane) add grenadine and then ice. Set aside.
- In a shaker pour all liquids and a generous amount of ice. Shake very well.
- Strain over the ice-filled glass.
- Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Only stir this lightly before serving, so the red color stays at the bottom but it still has a nice gradient.
If you're using the coffee liqueur, add it to the shaker when mixing the drink.
Tips & Tricks
You can substitute the grenadine with strawberry or raspberry syrup to get a similar looking cocktail, even if the flavor will be a bit different.
Another way of serving this is to pour the grenadine over the ice in the glass, and then the drink, to get a sort of marbled effect.
