Jalapeno Margarita

Turn up the spice with a Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila of choice
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup
  • 2 slices fresh jalapeno
  • lime wheel and salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, jalapeno, and agave syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Rub lime wedge on the glass rim, dip it in salt. Set aside.
  3. Strain drink into a margarita or rocks glass filled with ice
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel

Notes

Margaritas are usually made with tequila blanco, though you may use whichever you like, including mezcal.

Tips & Tricks

For an extra kick, consider mixing tajin with salt and using that as a garnish instead of plain salt. 

If you want to really make this pop, sneak a couple of drops of your hottest hot sauce in the shaker. Or, use some hot bring from pickled jalapenos. This could also work for a jalapeno Martini.
