The Long Island Sunset is a vibrant cocktail that combines the robust flavors of vodka, rum, tequila, gin, and triple sec with the sweetness of blue raspberry syrup, orange juice, and pineapple juice.

This drink offers a refreshing and fruity twist on the classic Long Island Iced Tea, perfect for a summer evening or a beachside gathering.

Tasting Notes

The first sip of the Long Island Sunset is a burst of tropical fruitiness, where the pineapple and orange juices dominate with their bright, sweet flavors. The blue raspberry syrup adds a unique, slightly tangy sweetness that balances the citrus notes.

The underlying blend of vodka, rum, tequila, gin, and triple sec gives the cocktail a strong but harmonious alcoholic backbone, making it both refreshing and potent.

As you continue to drink, the complexity of the Long Island Sunset becomes more apparent. The layers of different spirits merge seamlessly with the fruit juices, providing a smooth and slightly tangy finish. The blue raspberry syrup not only enhances the visual appeal with its vibrant color but also leaves a lingering sweetness on the palate. This cocktail is both invigorating and satisfying, making it a delightful choice for any occasion.

Tips & Tricks

Use 0.25 oz of each spirit instead of 0.5 oz to make the drink less strong and more sessionable.

Include a dash of bitters or a splash of spiced rum to add complexity and depth to the flavor profile.
