Sharing is caring!

Spiked Hot Chocolate is a cozy, indulgent drink that combines the rich, velvety taste of classic hot chocolate with a splash of rum for an adult twist. Topped with whipped cream, it’s the perfect drink to warm up on chilly evenings, offering both comfort and a hint of fun.

Tasting Notes

The first sip of Spiked Hot Chocolate delivers the familiar sweetness of hot chocolate, creamy and smooth, with a bold cocoa flavor that feels like a warm hug. The combination of hot water and milk creates a balanced richness that isn’t too heavy, making it easy to enjoy.

As the chocolatey warmth settles in, the rum introduces a slight kick, adding depth to the drink without overpowering it. The alcohol’s warmth complements the cocoa perfectly, creating a delightful contrast between the comforting sweetness and the spirited edge.

As you get deeper into the drink, the whipped cream on top melts into the hot chocolate, adding an extra layer of creamy texture. The rum lingers in the background, offering a gentle warmth that rounds out the experience. The whipped cream provides a fluffy sweetness that lightens the richness, and each sip is a perfect balance of cozy sweetness with a grown-up twist.

Tips & Tricks

Add a splash of peppermint schnapps for a refreshing, minty kick.

Mix in a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg for a spiced version that feels festive.

Swap the rum for Baileys Irish Cream for a creamier, more indulgent twist.
