A caipiroska is a vodka-based caipirinha, so what’s a strawberry caipiroska like ? Pretty good actually, especially if you’re into vodka and even better if you love strawberries.

What is Strawberry Caipiroska?
A strawberry caipiroska is a fruity version of the classic caipiroska, so you add fresh strawberries to the mix. It’s a fresh, vibrant drink and I think the extra fruit helps as vodka isn’t very flavorful to being with. Here’s how to make a strawberry caipiroska at home.
Strawberry Caipiroska Cocktail Recipe
- 2 oz vodka
- 2 lime wedges
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 2-3 large strawberries cut
- In a shaker add lime, sugar, strawberries. Muddle thoroughly.
- Add ice and vodka, shake very well.
- Strain into ice-filled rocks glass.
When is this drink best ?
A strawberry caipiroska can work well both in summer and in winter, and I’ll tell you why. Vodka drinks always remind me of winter and I can’t shake that association. But strawberries are a staple of summer, so I can see how this would fit as a summer cocktail too. Perhaps you could try one in both seasons and see which feels more appropriate.
My thoughts on Strawberry Caipiroska
I think the strawberry caipiroska is an improvement on the original, and the strawberries and little bit of sugar help round out this drink. As a muddled drink this will never be an intensely flavored cocktail, but it’s flavorful enough, especially since vodka lets both the strawberry and the lime take the spotlight.
Still, it’s a very lightly flavored drink and most of what you’ll taste is vodka. So perhaps a flavored vodka would work better here ?

Notes, substitutes, and tips
As a muddled drink, the strawberry caipiroska is going to have a lot of pulp so straining this wont be easy, but it can be done. You just need some patience, and to shake/hit the shaker a couple of times when it looks like it’s clogging.
There’s very little sugar in this, so don’t expect a sweet drink. You can double the sugar if you like.
