The Tequila Sour is a refreshing cocktail that combines the bold flavors of tequila with the citrusy notes of lime and the smooth sweetness of triple sec and simple syrup. The addition of egg white creates a silky texture, while a couple of dashes of bitters add complexity to the overall taste.

This drink is shaken to perfection and typically served in a chilled cocktail glass.

Tasting Notes

The Tequila Sour greets the palate with a bright and tangy burst of lime juice, balanced by the sweetness of simple syrup and triple sec. The tequila’s distinct agave flavor stands out, giving the cocktail a robust and slightly earthy undertone. The egg white adds a luxurious, frothy texture that smooths out the drink, making each sip creamy and rich.

As you continue to enjoy the Tequila Sour, the bitters come through subtly, adding a layer of complexity with their aromatic and slightly spicy notes. The interplay between the tart lime, sweeteners, and bitters creates a well-rounded cocktail with a pleasingly long finish.

The overall experience is refreshing, vibrant, and satisfying, making it a perfect choice for a sophisticated yet easy-to-enjoy drink.

Tips & Tricks

Muddle fresh herbs like cilantro or basil before shaking to add a unique herbal note to the cocktail.

Replace lime juice with grapefruit or blood orange juice for a different citrus profile.

Use honey syrup instead of simple syrup for a richer sweetness and a hint of floral flavor.
