Yield: 18 2 oz servings

Let the Sun Settle in Every Tasty Tequila Bite

Ingredients

  • 1 box (3 oz) red jello of choice
  • 1 box ( 3 oz ) orange jello of choice
  • 16 oz boiling water
  • 10 oz tequila of choice
  • 2 oz grenadine
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • cocktail cherries and orange triangles for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the red layer mix 8 oz boiling water and red jello in a mixing bowl until gelatin is dissolved.
  2. Next mix in 6 oz tequila and 2 oz grenadine.
  3. Pour into plastic jello shots without lid, then set all the shots in the fridge to cool about 2h.
  4. Once the red layer is mostly solidified, start preparing the orange layer.
  5. For the orange layer mix orange jello and 8 oz boiling water in a mixing bowl until gelatin is dissolved.
  6. Now mix in 4 oz tequila and 4 oz orange juice.
  7. Pour the orange mix into the cooled jello shots, right into the red layer. Any small amount of melted red will make a nice gradient.
  8. Now leave these in the fridge to fully set (about 4h).
  9. Garnish before serving or placing on the buffet table.
