What is Tequila Soda?
Tequila soda is a simple mix of tequila and club soda, often with a squirt of lime or lemon. Like other spirits and club soda, this is a simple drink and is usually had for its refreshing properties. Of course, you can always tweak this to be a bit sweet, or sweet and sour, depending on your preferences. And since this has club soda, there’s a bit of salt in the drink to begin with. No need for a salt rim !

Notes
When is this drink best ?
Tequila soda works great as a summer drink, like tall glass of cold water – but spiked with tequila. This is a very casual drink, and easily something you’d serve at lunch or brunch, rather than dinner.
My thoughts on Tequila Soda
I found tequila soda to be very plain, since there isn’t a lot of flavor going on. The tequila has a strong flavor in this but the alcohol is quite low. There is also a nice play of sour and salty, but it’s not exactly briny. Again, this depends on the exact club soda you use.
Overall I think this is a drink a tequila lover will enjoy, but I’m not a tequila fan.

Notes, substitutes, and tips
If you want to keep things authentic look for Topo Chico mineral water and use that instead of club soda.
Which tequila you use is entirely up to you, though I think silver would work best here.
