What is Strawberry Gin Tonic?
The strawberry gin tonic is a simple twist on the classic gin and tonic, where you add a dash of strawberry syrup both for flavor and a bit of color. This gin and tonic is just as easy to make as the classic version, so here’s the steps on how to make one.

Notes
When is this drink best ?
The strawberry gin tonic is a great summer cocktail, especially when you think of the mild strawberry flavor and the bubbly texture. The slight bitterness from the tonic balances everything out so you can still have this without it getting cloying.
I could see this served in pretty much any setting, from a casual night out at a diner, brunch with friends, at a pool party, or even at weddings.
My thoughts on Strawberry Gin Tonic
I liked the strawberry gin tonic, a bit more than the classic version. I think the extra strawberry flavor helps, and it’s not overly sweet. The flavor also heavily depends on the tonic water you use, some are sweeter than others, an some are more bitter, and some have a slightly different flavor.
The one I used (Schweppes classic) is fairly sweet and not the most bitter one out there. So if you use a tonic with more bitterness, the bump in sweetness and flavor (from the syrup) might work even better here.
Aside form all this, I think gin does work well with red fruit, but I think it works better with raspberries than strawberries. This was still a good combination, but the strawberries rounded out the botanical notes a bit too much for me.
