Fruity daiquiris are a part of summer, and they’re perhaps more popular than the original. This time we’re looking at the strawberry daiquiri, which has got its own fanclub and is perhaps the best known variation of fruity daiquiri.

What is Strawberry Daiquiri?
The strawberry daiquiri is a fruity daiquiri made with strawberry syrup. it can also be made with frozen or fresh strawberries, or strawberry puree, but I find the syrup get you a better flavor and color, plus sweetness.
Fruity daiquiris have been around for decades, and people have tried all sorts of combinations. Some work better than others, hence the high popularity of some versions over others. For example the strawberry daiquiri and the pineapple daiquiri are among the most requested, closely followed by passion fruit and then coconut.
So here’s how to make a beautiful and delicious strawberry daiquiri.

Notes
When is this drink best ?
I think the strawberry daiquiri is a perfect summer cocktail, both for the strawberry flavor and the rum base. It’s one of those drinks I can only imagine paired with a bright sunny afternoon, some pretty strong heat, and a body of water nearby. After all, the daiquiri (of any sort) is the classic cruise drink.
I could see this served on the beach, by the pool, by a lake even ! As long as it’s a fun, relaxed atmosphere the strawberry daiquiri will fit right in.
My thoughts on Strawberry Daiquiri
I loved the strawberry daiquiri, and I think it’s one of the best fruit-and-rum pairings I’ve had (Along with pineapple and coconut). Strawberries apparently go very well with most things, but especially well with white rum. The overall effect is a fruity and vaguely vanilla-infused, as this is white rum not dark rum. If you opt for dark rum, you’ll get more of a caramel taste and a funkier overall flavor (still great tho !)
Don’t forget this is a daiquiri, so it will be sweet and sour, but the overall tone is sour or tart. There’s just enough sweetness in this strawberry daiquiri to keep it from being overwhelming, and I think that works great.

Notes, substitutes, and tips
Strawberry syrup works best here, but if you want you can always swap it for strawberry puree (sweetened).
If you want to turn this into a frozen daiquiri, build the cocktail in a blender with ice. You can swap the strawberry syrup for frozen strawberries, but you need to add about 0.5 oz of simple syrup to sweeten this.
